Easy Installation

Fast, Easy Installation

The nuvoH2O softener is one of the most installation-friendly softeners on the market. No drains, no electricity, no calibration. No additional plumbing is required for a soft-water loop because nuvoH2O doesn't change the taste of your water; it is FDA approved and safe to drink. The built-in bypass makes future cartridge replacement a snap without requiring additional shut-off valves. Simply mount the nuvoH2O softener on the main water line and you're well on your way to enjoying softer, conditioned water in a fraction of the time it takes to install a salt-based softener.

Package Contents

In addition to the nuvoH2O softener and its cartridge, the nuvoH2O softener package also includes a mounting back plate, mounting bracket, screws, and housing wrench.

Home & Studio Installation Steps

Please read the complete Installation Guide prior to installing the nuvoH2O softener.

  1. Turn off the main water supply line leading to the proposed installation site (softener must hang vertically).
  2. Attach the Wall Mounting Panel horizontally to wall studs with the screws provided. Do not attach the bottom screw at this time.
  3. Attach the C-Bracket horizontally to the Wall Mounting Panel under the "Softener" label. The screws on the right should go through the right hole on the C Bracket and the lower right hole on the Wall Mounting Panel into the wall stud.
  4. Remove the Housing Head from the Housing Body by detaching the Collar (turn counterclockwise or left - use provided Wrench if necessary).
  5. Attach the appropriate nipple (not included) securely into the ports on each side of the Housing Head. The inlet and outlet ports are tapered (NPT) and require thread seal tape or sealant compound to prevent leakage. Be very careful, as over-tightening the threading can split or break the port. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
  6. Attach the Housing Head to the wall by inserting the nipples in the Housing Head through the side holes in the C-Bracket.
  7. Securely connect the water supply line inlet & outlet to the nipples in the Housing Head (connecting pipe not included).
  8. Check that the O-ring is properly seated inside the Housing Body.
  9. Attach the Collar (turn clockwise or right) and use the Wrench provided to securely tighten the Housing Body to the Housing Head.
  10. Turn on the main water supply.

Common Installation Issues

  1. The softener is not installed vertically.
  2. The inflow supply pipe is reversed and attached to the outlet port.
  3. The NPT inlet and outlet ports are over-tightened, splitting the port threads.
  4. The O-ring in the Housing Body is not seated properly.
  5. Environmental damage due to direct sunlight or freezing (not covered under warranty).
  6. A pressure reduction valve should be installed when water pressure is over 100 PSI.
